Divemaster already? Looking for a Dive Instructor Internship?

Congratulations on being a dive master professional. If you have come as far as pro diver you'll know the sense of achievement you get from this professional diver level and if you have worked in the dive industry already then you'll know how rewarding this is also.

As a divemaster (from any dive certifying agency) you'll know that you can be of assistance to dive instructors, lead tours, assist in the dive center and help with diving academics etc. The next stage to make you very employable is obviously the PADI OWSI (PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor) professional level diver - allowing you to perform many additional dive duties including dive instruction and hence being more desirable to a dive employer. Many scuba jobs in the dive industry have the instructor rating as the corner stone of their training. The dive instructor rating offers the best basic start to a dive career. Even if entering the technical dive arena - dive instructor will need to be achieved if instruction in this area is intended.

You can take an IDC (Dive Instructor Development Course) anywhere that is an IDC center. Often we have divers attend the program that are here just for the IDC on it's own. Although we have success all have commented on the fact that the divers that interned with Mermaids CDC seem so very much better prepared for all exams and tests. Even if all pass the exams, the internship have shown that those choosing this path are better prepared for dive work on certification also.
